The fund's primary objective is to invest in equity instruments listed or traded on exchanges within the Asia Pacific region, with the explicit exclusion of Japan. Under normal operating conditions, at least 80% of its capital, comprising net assets and any borrowed funds used for investment, will be directed towards securities issued by entities located in this same Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) area. The investment adviser considers a wide range of investments as equity securities, including common and preferred stocks, various depositary receipts, and other instruments possessing equity characteristics, such as, but not limited to, equity-linked and participation notes.
